NEW YORK - At The Waldorf Towers, the boutique property located adjacent to the Waldorf Astoria, guests can choose to avail of a four-course Presidential Tasting Menu in the comfort of their luxury suites. This special menu is available to guests of the hotel’s Presidential Suite, the official New York “home” of every US President since Herbert Hoover, as well as to all Towers guests as an in-room dining option. The four-course menu with paired wines will reflect preferred meals of past Presidents. The Waldorf Towers’ Presidential Tasting Menu is priced at $480 per person inclusive of tax and gratuity, and butler service (1 butler for up to 10 guests). Upon arrival, guests can contact The Towers Concierge Desk at 212.872.4718 to arrange for their meal.

The menu, which is sure to delight culinary aficionados and history buffs alike, was created by the Waldorf’s seasoned chefs based on the very dishes the kitchen has created and served to past Presidents who have visited the hotel. The Presidential Tasting Menu begins with a favorite of President Bill Clinton: Seared Scallop with Osetra Caviar and Potato-Chive Mousseline, which was served at a Heads of State Dinner in September 2000. The second course, Poached Turbot with Caviar-Champagne Sauce, was prepared for President Ronald Reagan at a Heads of State Dinner for the United Nations’ 40 th Anniversary in 1985. While President George H. Bush was entertaining Prime Minister John Major in 1992, they enjoyed the main course, Roast Rack of Lamb with Saffron Potatoes, Candied Eggplant and Pickled Onion. Chocolate Extravaganza, a preferred dessert of George W. Bush, completes the menu.

The meal is served to guests on the same china used for visiting Presidents. A selection of premium wines accompanies each course, and the gourmet repast is delivered by personal butlers to the guest’s suite to ensure the highest quality.

For local guests, or for those who are not planning a stay in The Waldorf Towers, the Presidential Tasting Menu is also available in the private Wine Library, at the hotel’s Bull & Bear steakhouse. The meal is priced at $500 per person inclusive of tax and gratuity, and includes private butler service, U.S. flags adorning the room, and Presidential amenities for diners to take home with them. Reservations need to be made a week in advance, and can be done by visiting or by calling 212.872.1275.
